  1. \x0a Jasper: Jasper is available for adoption in Northern Virginia, USA, through HART . Jasper and his sister Amber were adopted from HART as tiny kittens. Now they are 4 and a half years old and their human can no longer afford to take care of them. We are seeing more and more financial difficulty causing folks to have to give up their beloved pets. I bet all rescue groups are seeing it. I guess times are getting to be pretty hard.\x0a \x0a \x0a

  9. \x0a Howdya Open This Thing?: Valencia gets into almost everything. The bag of cat treats? No such luck! It’s not made to be opened by cats. :) Valencia lives at the BARC shelter in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY) and is available for adoption. See www.barcshelter.org\x0a \x0a \x0a

  11. \x0a Woof Woof?: I dunno, it just looks to me kind of like Archie is barking. He is now up to a healthy weight, but he has become a little bitey. Not that he’s mean, but he’s starting to play a little rough. At least it means he’s feeling better! Archie lives at the BARC shelter in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY) and is available for adoption. 13. \x0a Come Here Please!: Mouse here (yes, a cat named mouse) doesn’t want to come out of his cage, he wants me to come in! Yes, he’s pulling my leg — literally. Okay, eventually he realized that I wouldn’t fit in there and he came out and sat on my leg instead. I later learned that he had diarrhea. By being told, fortunately. I dodged a bullet there! (Or maybe more like a shotgun blast?) Mouse lives at the BARC shelter in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY) and is available for adoption. See www.barcshelter.org\x0a \x0a \x0a

  17. \x0a No Stopping Her!: She’s missing half her left rear leg, but do you think that stops her from climbing? Of course not, she’s a kitten! Nothing can stop them, not even kryptonite… The other cats in the cage with her are her siblings. One of them is also missing part of her left leg, which suggests a genetic basis. This kitten (and her siblings) live at the BARC shelter in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY) and are available for adoption. See www.barcshelter.org\x0a \x0a \x0a

  19. \x0a Simon - One of the Good Guys: It so difficult to explain about the way that some shelter kitties get into your heart. For each volunteer it’s different, it’s so funny. Different cats tug at different aspects of MY character. Simon tugs at my “shy guy with a heart of gold” aspect. Other volunteers may ignore Simon because he does tend to flit around in the background, always on the edge. I notice him because he likes me and always dances around wherever I am. I love that and I love him, very much. I swear, if I had a house, I’d have many more of my shelter friends live with me. Maybe some day, Simon. Someday. You can join my other shelter list, Allie, Teddy, Bridget, Tara, Miss Cleo, Lincoln, Douglas, Sloopy, Daphne, Friskie, Maggie, Lola, Samson, Morris, Jelly Bean, Billy Bob, Chrissie, Meatball, Hugo and on and on and on…..and this list gets added to everyday. Keep in mind that Spike would kill me in my sleep if I ever did this. KILL ME. And he would bully and steal all these kittie’s milk money. Spike is super intelligent Alpha KING and it’s just not possible for me to have another cat at the moment. I try to explain to him about how I rescued HIM from the shelter and how I’d love to do this for others and he always flips me the bird.\x0a \x0a \x0a
