Pit Bull calendar on sale next week, folks, to benefit the Sula foundation (“Dedicated to fostering responsible pit bull ownership through low-cost veterinary clinics, education and advocacy”).

I wanted to let you know that the first Pit Bulls of New Orleans calendar will be out at Thanksgiving. It features over a dozen pit bulls (and a few mutts), and their owners, from Lower Ninth Ward to Uptown. Some highlights include: members of the Hot 8 Brass Band with their dogs in Audubon Park; Kim Dudek and her dog Dag at Belladonna Day Spa; filmmaker Mari Kornhauser sprawled across her bed with rescued dogs Ibby and Marigny; and more. In addition to the wonderful photos, the calendar includes New Orleans festival dates, Christian and Jewish holidays, and significant dates in the history of the pit bull. They may be purchased by mail for $20, payable by check to The Sula Foundation, PO Box 3780, New Orleans, LA 70117; or via paypal to sulafoundation@gmail.com. Proceeds benefit The Sula Foundation’s programs, including low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter and rescue work.
